Elections
The voters have spoken
Thursday, November 09, 2006 - 06:07 AM
Our campaign placed before the voters a new direction for representation in District 35. Tuesday, the voters who went to the polls, decided not to embrace our vision; rather the voters would like to continue the two decades of a Democrat in this house seat.

I will hope and pray for Representative Wheatley and ask that my supporters do also.

I want to thank the many supporters who worked tirelessly on my campaign. The support and genuine affection is both personally gratifying and humbling; my heartfelt thanks to you all.

People who live in glass houses...
Friday, November 03, 2006 - 08:17 AM
My Democrat opponent and his handlers within the Democratic Party must be desperate; do they believe that District 35 Voters will actually believe a pack of lies?

In a postcard, I am accused of raising tens of thousands of dollars from "out of state" and "special interest" groups. The facts are available to everyone at www.utah.gov. Take a look and see which of us has more money is coming from "out of state" and "special interest groups".

Don’t take my word for it, see for yourself:

Bogus use of the Hatch Act
Monday, October 02, 2006 - 02:19 PM
My Democrat opponent and his handlers within the Democratic Party are attempting to use a highly technical and arcane federal law passed in the late 1930s to deceptively insinuate that I am not permitted to campaign for the Utah House of Representatives.

More Money for Public Education, No Excuses!
Friday, August 04, 2006 - 06:52 AM
In today’s Salt Lake Tribune (August 3, 2006), it is reported that Utah is expecting a $350 million surplus.  The question:  with so many worthy causes, where should the excess cash go? My answer:  to education.

More Dollars Actually Spent In Classrooms, No Excuses!
Sunday, July 30, 2006 - 09:49 AM
Research shows classroom expenditures are a five times better indicator of academic improvement than overall spending, so why do some Utah School Districts spend so little of our tax dollars in the classroom?

1 in 5 Utah Teachers is Under Paid!
Friday, March 31, 2006 - 06:14 AM
Utah’s teachers, like teachers across the nation, have traditionally been paid based upon salary schedules which reward years of experience and advanced college degrees. I am concerned with the fact that this system compensates our Best Teachers at the same level of pay as our Worst Teachers; this is simply wrong! Utah’s Best Teachers deserve better pay.
